WHY PSYCHOTHERAPY?

Psychotherapy is an opportunity to receive help with emotional questioning or turmoil. As a therapist, I offer deep attention, skills, and a confidential place for inquiry.

I support pursuit of a gentle ambition to know your self and your life in a new light.

My role is to provide a safe place and time for non-critical, expansive inquiry.   This is a collaborative process, with a hope for you to reach more clarity, to reduce distress, and to tap into your unique strengths, values and goals.

The process involves reflection, exploration and practice of new coping skills. Over time, many people experience relief, discovery, desired change, and renewal.

Psychotherapy may be focused, short-term work, or you may enter into a broader exploration, suggesting longer work.

When walking in a dark woods, there is relief upon seeing an opening and light ahead. So too when exploring your life in psychotherapy. Taking this step can raise anxiety, at the same time as work with a skilled and well-matched therapist offers possibilities of new light and new vistas for you.
